LOSINJ
The island of Losinj, with its characteristic pine woods and indented coastline, is located in the Gulf of Quarnaro. The two most picturesque towns are: Veli Losinj, a typical fi shing villager with pastel-coloured houses gathered around the bay, with cobblestone streets and small houses located in the rich vegetation along the coast; and Mali Losinj, a more touristy village, located on the North-East coast of the island and well merged into the landscape and the beautiful pebbled and sandy bay of Cikat The island of Losinj is crossed by just one road and can be reached by land from the island of Cres and by ferries from Istria and the island of Krk.
KRK The island of Krk, located in the Gulf of Quarnaro, is the biggest pearl in the string of thousands of islands that line the Croatian coast of the Adriatic. Its characteristics are
the crystalline sea and an untouched landscape. Njivice, a well-known fi shing village, is located on the North-West side of the island in the sheltered bay of Belikamik and is today one of the most attractive spots on the island. Njivice is connected to Malinska, another picturesque tourist village, by a lovely 4 Km. walk, with beautiful bays, dense woodlands and shingle beaches. A bridge that starts from Kralievica, near Rijeka, connects the island to the mainland.
